Hello to all I am from Melbourne well 75k south on the coast of Aussie land.
I started my cooking about 70 years ago, when I was about 16 we had an old “One Fire Stove” that had little round hot plates that could be removed, I would take that off place an old wire cake stand and cook a steak on when I came home after nigh trade school.
This is how I learnt to cook a Steak
My mother cooked on a similar stove from the mid 1930s to the late 1960s
I have cooked fish on the beach in a with couch spring, fish in the tropics islands of Aust in a plough blade.
I recently pulled out a 30yld natural Gas BBQ that I could turn into a full oven and do a full pig or lamb, very easily.
I have just replaced it with a Weber Q 22O AU Natural Gas.
After 70 years of cooking I am on a massive learning curve.
There are plenty of BBQ forums but this one looks like the one I am looking for a Weber Specialist Forum.
Here are a few photos of Before and After
After 30 years
The original grate
What was left of the Cast Iron burner.
After a good scrub up and a high pressure hose.
Finally the Weber Q ready to go.
Some of the extras I have bought
