Hard work is its own reward!

I concur Brad. Congrats replacing the faucet. Is it one of those that the hoses all go through one hold and you have to use their wrench to tighten it up? I didn't find the wrench in the box until about an hour+ trying to tighten it up, LOL

Usually the worst part is getting the old one out, but installing the new one is definitely a a pain too. Good job, I've laid under enough sinks to appreciate that one.

Hands-free or standard?
Ha! I replaced the kitchen tap here..... and we have cats. No, hands-free isn't an option, even if they have shut-offs and we customarily leave the drains open.

Part of this task is having the right tools. Not only are basin wrenches awfully handy, but so are crowsfoot wrenches. And there are definitely advantages to different clamping mechanisms on the base. I'm a big fan of what American Standard has done, super easy to use, and easy to take apart.

I had mine installed, added the water filter station and liquid soap dispenser at the same time, plumber had all the various fittings and tools which I do not possess (nor have any Desire to purchase) when this guy retires, I’d better be done with any of that stuff! He is a great plumber and a very kind fellow! My electrician is much younger so, I’m not worried about that stuff!

Really not that hard to put in. I have installed a few over the years plus some bathroom ones. But as I find myself getting older it sure gets harder. One reason more times than not my car goes to the dealer for maint and services rather than this former professional wrench doing it DIY. Sometimes I do but sometimes it's just not worth my time and "grunts"

My DYI skills are limited, I’m beginning to prefer the “YDI“ school of home maintenance (You Do It)! I don’t bend like I used to. Sometimes for little things I can bribe or barter feasting with more “skilled” buddies. The deck was a combination, they are always well fed when I have them work for me!

I installed one of those touchless faucets when I remodeled our kitchen two years ago. It works great. I did it before the counter guys installed the sink though. Replacement will be difficult because the sink is 12" deep and getting underneath and up in there's no party.
I do like the newer faucets though. They have made it easier to install and tighten if needed.

Hands-free or standard?
Just a standard economy faucet. We're probably going to be replacing the sink itself in a couple of years so this faucet just has to get us by until then. I like the idea of a hands-free faucet, but I don't know if I'd go electronic or foot-operated mechanical.

The hardest part of the removal was getting the retaining nut off of the hot side. I finally had my son-in-law bring his Sawzall over and cut through the threaded shaft.

OH I sure like hearing DIY stories. DH is really great at that stuff. He is fixing our refrigerator now.

Ha, that's exactly what I had to do to get my last kitchen faucet off.
