Simple yet so good,I love this meal!! Most would use ground beef but my family prefers ground turkey. I mix the beans and meat together, its all going in the same place anyway, right?

Cooked up 2 lbs ground turkey

Removed the turkey, added 2 cans no salt added pinto beans to the pan and mashed them up with a potato masher. I removed the liquid from the can of beans and added just plain water;

Added the ground turkey and a couple of low sodium taco seasoning packs to the beans

Mixed everything together and added about another cup of water to get the seasoning incorporated into the meat/bean mixture.

On the grill for approx 30 minutes to let it reduce.

Warmed a flour tortilla added some avocado, sour cream, the turkey/ beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese and Sriracha sauce.

Added the same thing to the tostada. Like I said simple!!

Ya I'm doing that!!! Got all the makings here!! I do quite a bit of ground turkey myself but never though of tossing the meat into the beans!!! Your a genius!! Super!

John that looks awesome! I'm on a low salt diet and thats the kind of meal I'm looking for. Would you mind sharing the brand of no salt beans you used as I've never seen no salt just low salt. Thanks!

John, you & Tony (both of you from San SOMEPLACE, CA [how ironic]) make the BEST Mexican chow I've ever seen AND i'm sure it's alllll the REALDEAL!
Awesome la cena!

Looks awesome - appreciate the no-salt/low sodium. Did you notice any taste difference in using them?

Daum

Yeah, it wasn't as salty!! J/K Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I have been trying to cut my salt intake down. There seems to be alot of salt in everything else, the hot sauce, cheese, tortilla, etc so to me it was fine. Nobody else who ate it complained so I guess it was salty enough for them too.
