Greetings from Minnesota

Hi All, greetings from Minnesota. Happy to be part of this community today. I'm a lifelong griller, and usually am able to get some grilling in 12 months of the year even up here in MN. Can be tough when sub-zero though!

I have owned a copper colored Weber Genesis E310 since 2012, interestingly back then it was made similar to today's E-315 with doors. I've used it a lot, but taking good care it still looks great and functions perfectly.

Just purchased a Smokey Mountain 18.5". After wanting to get serious about smoking for years, I finally broke down and made the leap. I have smoked/cooked chicken and baby back ribs so far. Both turned out awesome, I'm in love with this thing. I'm a relative newby to smoking, but thinking of jumping in with both feet and smoking a brisket for Father's Day. I've already gotten some great tips from this forum, wish me luck.

Happy early Father's Day to all the Dad's out there.

Where about in MN? If you are close and have questions, I'm sure that someone on this board is close to you and would love to answer questions personally!

Glad you joined us Joe and welcome from KC. Congrats on your new 18.5 wsm, that's a great purchase.
Oh, and happy Fathers Day coming at you.

I'm in MN too...Carver county, about 45 min west of the cities.

Hey, hey! As another newbie here, allow me to welcome you. You won't find a nicer, more helpful group on the Internet, I promise you. And we're both new WSM owners, so we can learn together.

@JoePryz, I've heard rumors that there are good barbecue shacks out that way.

G/f & I will be going to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre later this summer.

Welcome to the forum Joe. Minnesota is my favorite place to visit in the summer. I usually stay in Bloomington for business purposes and we have family with a lake home near Perham.

The 18" WSM is a bad little motor scooter. I run the 22" WSM with good results 99% of the time.

Hope your brisket turns out great - share some pics when you get a moment.
