For those that know SSix personally, you know that if you are lacking a crucial item in your Weber armory, he will find it for you on Craigslist and then send you non-stop text messages until you buy it. That's how I ended up being a proud owner of a SS Performer, and now I can add a Rotisserie to that list. He found a great deal this weekend and sent it to me, since I've been wanting a Roto ever since I used his, I gave the guy a call and after some negotiating I met him and picked up a new in box Roto for $70!
So Sunday I cooked a whole chicken on it. I used a recipe I found on the Weber app called "brined rotisserie chicken with cuban flavors". It turned out really good. Unfortunately my pictures didn't turn out very good. So here's just a sample:
The recipe calls for a "dry brine" (isn't that called a rub?), made out of orange zest and other spices. Rubbed it and let it sit overnight in the fridge.
Almost done:
Pulled when the breasts hit 160 and let it sit covered under some tin foil for about 10 mins:
It was really delicious!
I'm curious to hear what your favorite thing to cook on the Roto is? I'm really excited to try different items.
Thanks for looking.
