Got a new toy for the Performer.......Rotisserie!

For those that know SSix personally, you know that if you are lacking a crucial item in your Weber armory, he will find it for you on Craigslist and then send you non-stop text messages until you buy it. That's how I ended up being a proud owner of a SS Performer, and now I can add a Rotisserie to that list. He found a great deal this weekend and sent it to me, since I've been wanting a Roto ever since I used his, I gave the guy a call and after some negotiating I met him and picked up a new in box Roto for $70!

So Sunday I cooked a whole chicken on it. I used a recipe I found on the Weber app called "brined rotisserie chicken with cuban flavors". It turned out really good. Unfortunately my pictures didn't turn out very good. So here's just a sample:

The recipe calls for a "dry brine" (isn't that called a rub?), made out of orange zest and other spices. Rubbed it and let it sit overnight in the fridge.

Almost done:

Pulled when the breasts hit 160 and let it sit covered under some tin foil for about 10 mins:

It was really delicious!

I'm curious to hear what your favorite thing to cook on the Roto is? I'm really excited to try different items.

Thanks for looking.

Dear Hank, have you ever tried chicken on the rotisserie? It's one of my favorite things!
Thought fully yours,
S.six

Good looking chicken ther buddy, i got one a cple of months ago, best piece of kit for the 22, lamb legs and pork joints are really good on it.

Nice looking cook! I got a roto for our performer for christmas and have been too lazy to break it out in this cold yet :o

I have a frozen turkey sitting in the freezer just waiting to go for a trial spin.

Got a roto I use all the time on my Weber gasser but still don't have one for the performer, got to get my butt in gear and get one cuzz I love roto chicken and turkey.

Excellent looking chicken! I also use mine to do different cuts of roast and also use the fish basket for different things.

I respond the same way every time I see a gorgeous rottiserie bird.....I need one of those! Great looking cook.

try a leg of lamb - studded with garlic and rosemary
or a rolled pork loin - delicious crackling too...

the Roti is a thing of wonder!

Awesome looking Bird. Welcome to the wonderful world of rotisserie cooking! I use mine all the time to cook stuffed pork roasts (recipe 1, recipe 2), turkey, chicken, and lamb. I recently got a basket and will be trying vegetables and wings in it this weekend.

Regards,

John
