Genesis Gold Part 2

Frames and cook boxes are a lot harder to source than most grill parts. It is like restoring a car and needing a new body and Engine.
Absolutely. How many times have you had to chuck a frame or cook box because they were toast? I know I've had to, that's how we end up with more parts than grills.

I always cut the chunk of tube that runs parallel with the front and back of the cookbox to have as pieces to put in the rotted chunk where the cookbox bolts to.

Cody, I have scavenged several solid sections from frames. Not the cook box cross member. You can cut them up into several cross members. I don't ever save the actual cook box cross member for two reasons. First, it likely already has some of the rust common on most grills and second, when you cut it out, it invariably winds up slightly shorter than what you actually want due to cutting it out.

The only things NOT wrong with this grill: The cook box doesn't have any holes in it and the frame cross member isn't rotted out where the cook box bolts on.
I had one of those once, every piece of the frame was rotted through in some place to make it useless, except for that one. Also, all of the zbars and screws were so badly rusted I couldn't get them apart from the durawood, but the cook box and drip tray were really good. You figure....

There's no rhyme or reason to it, it's always something different.

eReplacement Parts has a section covering side burners with expanded views of various models which can be helpful in putting yours back together
I have seen that before, out of curiosity I was looking to see if you could still buy one of the older side burner assemblies. I was only half joking about not being able to put it back together. I took pictures of it before hand and I have what amounts to a brand new version of this same grill that I can reference for help.

These end caps were pretty bad and I didn't think they would clean up so I didn't really bother to take before pictures of them. I did soak them overnight.IMG_20250408_162940705.jpgIMG_20250410_165746266.jpgIMG_20250410_165805883.jpg
