I was digging through a can of miscellaneous junk today looking for a nut to fix something for my daughter when I came across this thing. It came with my original Genesis 1000 grill. View attachment 112543

Like I noted, I get why it might be avoided. I'm guilty as charged on the Wolf. Because I have 2 valves that will not come apart. BUT, they do NOT last as well or as long as the ones I got apart and did correctly. I constantly have to go back and redo those 2 valves. The others just work and work with no issues.
Just because something is easier and "gets ya by" doesn't make it the proper procedure or the "best" procedure
