Genesis 4/5 Restore

It is beautiful. I like the added character on the control panel from the flame check rock. Sounds to have been a very tedious and frustrating restoration. I feel that should sell at that price. That is a lot of grill and features for under $500!

Excellent restoration Bruce! I like how you went the distance and even got a new warming rack and swinging basket. Is that big drip tray one from a front control Genesis?
Warming rack and swing basket are original. They just had a light coating of grease on them and I laid them in my grill cleaner bath for a day and they looked perfect. Steve, I was wondering if anyone would notice that. The original was in really pretty good shape, but had a couple of pin holes rusted through and I didn't want to try to patch it or anything for this build.

I think I saw some spots on the glass. That has to knock off maybe $75?
Seriously though, true craftsmanship! Outstanding work! Anyone should be proud to have it, looks like a dream to cook on but yet a shame to do so
One thing about restores is the picky stuff for pictures. Every time you touch a clean grill you put finger prints on it or just letting it sit for a few hours with all the pollen in the air provides a fresh coat of greenish brown powder coating everything.

I was just bustin' your chops a little. Are you getting everything coated with smoke residue from the wildfires? Everything I own has smoke residue on it if I leave it outside

Yah, but the pollen is worse than the smoke. And the Cottonwoods just started snowing a couple days ago. Painting outside is dangerous right now.

I know you were just kidding Larry. I was just lamenting a bit regarding the final prep for rehab grills. Seems like the time the grill is "complete" to the time you actually get around to taking photos is an hour due to having to do all the last minute wipe downs and picky stuff.

One thing I 've recently discovered is microfiber towels are your friend. More I use them more I love them

An absolutely beautiful, stunning grill and a piece of Weber history besides! I think this will be one of your memorable ones, Bruce. Fun to do something like this as a change from "normal" restores for which you also always do such a great job. My friends in suburban Chicago where we stayed for 5 weeks in 2020 while we were "homeless" are still cooking on the green head Silver I bought from you back then to give to them as a "Thank You" for their extraordinary kindness!
