Genesis 4/5 Restore

If someone can help me out with this measurement, I would appreciate it. Since my grill started out life as a NG grill, it had no sticker for the fuel gauge on the frame leg. I need to know where to place the sticker since I have converted it to LP. Can someone get me the distance from the horizontal frame down to the top of the sticker?

When I did my 1000, Steve recommended installing the hanger and putting an empty tank on it. Worked perfect.

Yep, was gonna tell ya the same thing. Hang an empty tank, this way you have the Tare weight. That will be your 0 line. From there it doesn't matter because all you care about on the gauge is warning of being empty not full :D

Well, my tank is totally out of adjustment. I removed the adjusting screw and the spring fell out. I got it back in, but have no idea where mechanical zero should be. But, I will just guess and then use that as that as the Tare weight and go from there as suggested.

Well, I got the doors done now and I have the cook box painted along with the end caps. I have the lid ready to install the end caps. I ended my work today with the T-storms coming in. But aside from a lot of nit picky stuff and reassembly, I am getting close. My biggest hang up now is the lid handle. The one I have is OK, but warped and not good. I think Mark might be able to help me out with that. But that will cause some delay as I will have to get it and then paint it.

But it is getting there. I am hoping someone wants to buy their Dad a great Dad's Day gift.

If no one has sent you Factory location of the fuel level sticker I can get that for you when I get home. Obviously you're going to want that in its original Factory location and then adjust your tank scale to it.

I don't have a 5 to verify it on.

On my 1000 it is 8 1/2 from bottom of horizontal bar to the top of the sticker, same as Cody's

I am going to assume it is the same on mine. However, mine was born as a Natural Gas grill and therefore didn't have a sticker. Jon told me that it probably was an old style sticker anyway. My grill was born 12/5/1989 and looking at the 1990 product catalog from Weber, it seems he is correct.
