Genesis 4/5 Restore

On my Wolf I had 2 issues. First the sensing bulb and then the actual valve which is actually quite easy to adapt a replacement. But, being resourceful I disassembled mine and found the "trip" lever's grease had solidified to the point the valve would not trip reliably. So, I cleaned and re-greased it and it's been working like a champ the last 6 years or so

I finally got to the lid today. I got the screws out of the end caps but could not figure out when I still couldn't get the end caps off the lid. I guess the PO wanted to seal it up air tight. Sheesh. I though I was going to shatter the porcelain trying to get them off.

Just a couple progress photos. I finally got the frame and cabinet pieces cleaned up and painted. I also painted the Z bars and shelf hardware and got them all assembled. Next big step is the lid and waiting on the blaster to get my cook box done.

Oh, and I had some company while rehabbing today. I guess it is a Brown Snake.

Cody, no I don't have a buyer lined up on this one. What do you mean by original cast pieces? The cook box will be original but the end caps will be the same style, but from a different grill. I didn't have the end caps removed from the lid when I took the cook box to the blaster. I assume those are the pieces you are talking about as far as "Cast Pieces".

Yeah. Just as authentic as you’re going with this (short of the NG to LP), I relate it back to “numbers matching” auto restorations. I was just curious is all. Market on flips seems to be pretty slow right now and heavily saturated with the $200 “clean and ready to cook” listings.

LOL, yah, he was lucky to be 12" long.

I agree Cody, we are moving past the prime time for flipping rehabs. Fathers day should peak some action, but after that, most people that are going to buy a "new" grill, already have. But, you will still get sales. Just a little lower price and little longer wait.
