Genesis 1000 Porcelain Drip Tray

Grillparts.com I think is a reputable site. It also states High quality porcelain coated metal. The cheap one the guy was selling was a painted version. Someone has to take a chance for the team to check it out;-)
Joe, I had to go back and look but @TomRc bought a couple when the news first came out.Post in thread 'BBQparts.com just posted an exact fit replacement pullout try for old Genesis models.' https://tvwbb.com/threads/bbqparts-...try-for-old-genesis-models.99946/post-1182446

I could perhaps see it for a dream keeper grill like Mark’s. Too much $ for me I think, at least as long as my stash of originals that I feel can be touched up and re-used holds out.

Still, I am glad there is at least one new option out there now!

I see Justin G didn't do us Genesis fanatics any favors with his only 2 pictures šŸ˜‘
At least I'll scrutinize the darn thing, good or bad.
I am hoping you will be pleasantly surprised :smilekettle: . At least someone is trying to fill this niche. Let's hope the quality is at least decent.

I will stand by my previous assessment on these. They look and fit like an original but the porcelain is thin and doesn’t have the smoothest finish. For me, the question always comes back to ā€œWould I buy this again?ā€. In this case, the answer is a qualified yes. I fully understand that the price point is a no-go for some but there currently aren’t any better options for a new pan which is almost a requirement on some of my deep-dive flips. I’m sending one of these trays to Jeff @ IPE with my next batch of lids and am sure it will come back with a much better finish than it currently has.

I'm also going to send Jeff my Genesis 1 drip tray, the kind with the wire grease pan holder.
I'm sure them are harder to find than chicken hens teeth 😁
I've been lucky on all of my flippers that I still use and find the correct pans, $50 into a flipper grill and there goes any profit potential, because I'm already buying $170ish of new stainless steel under the lid.

Tom,
You are blessed to have customers who appreciate your top drawer work and who have the willingness to pay for it. I wish I did. I have to accept that here in the rural Midwest having Jeff recoat a drip tray - or even spending to buy one of these ā€œas isā€ - is pretty much a non-starter.

I respect your assessment and will be very interested to see what one coming back from Jeff looks like.
