Genesis 1000 - Good Deal?

Check out Dollar Tree if you have it in your area. I checked once and I am pretty sure they had Pure Acetone. A buck a bottle isn't bad.

Their bleach, rubbing alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide are all very watered down. Read the label.

Rubbing alcohol is available at 50% at Dollar General, so that's what I based my opinion on. I was disappointed to find that out after buying a bottle. I really don't know about their hydrogen peroxide, and the only bleach manufacturer I know of that puts the concentration on the label is Chlorox, although someone posted that higher strength bleach is available at a swimming supply house. Bleach gets weaker with age, too. So just read the label before you buy and know what you are getting.

But thinking about it, I don't see why 98% acetone fingernail polish wouldn't work perfectly well as part of a penetrant formula...I've always bought pure acetone by the quart or the gallon.

Well, with some elbow grease I was able to remove the manifold.

Next, I'm stumped trying to remove the burners. It looks like the bolt heads are no longer their original shape, possibly?

Any advice how to remove them?
Thanks again.

Do not remove the bolts on the left side. Clean around the bolts then gently pry with a flat head screwdriver the burner tubes back towards the removed manifold

Take your time. A putty knife or painters tool is helpful.

Wow. Funny enough, I flipped it over to remove other parts on the bottom, read your message, then flipped back upright.

The one burner came loose from all that on its own, which allowed me to see what you meant.
The old Craftsman flathead got the other one off!

...so I guess this is where I fire up the drill? 😅

Which side would be best to drill from?

Believe it or not, but I was able to twist the nut off with the vice grips though.

Well, I would probably first put that nut back on and just keep tightening it until it either pulls the bolt out of the firebox or it twists the bolt off. Even if it twists the bolt off at the firebox, you are going to have to grind one end of the bolt flat before you start trying to drill the bolt out.
