Game Day Brats

Hello folks. Wanted to cook some brats for college football Saturday. The inspiration for this cook came from a YouTube channel called smokey goodness. Check it out, it's pretty good. Pictured here are some locally made sausages along with some dogs since my kids are convinced they don't like brats.

Started by sautéing some onions in my skillet.

Added the sausages, beer, brown sugar, stone ground mustard and kraut to the skillet.

After 20 minutes or so turned the skillet.

After about 45 minutes took the sausages out to brown on direct heat. Not a good pic, getting dark out.

Put the sausages back in the skillet and brought them into the house.

Plated shots. It looks messy but it was really good.

The long cook carmelized the onion and the kraut making a very delicious flavor. Our U of M Grizzlies won also making it a very good meal. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

My appreciation for kraut has increased lately as to where I'll take a bite of it right out of the jar (I try to get that same brand---even tried...kind of....to make it once). Cooking the brats / onion / smoke / dogs & mustard into it---had to be great.

Robert T;
Good lookin' cook! By the way, what's that white stuff all over the ground?:rolleyes: Here in SOUTHERN Ohio, ahem, it was eleven degrees this morning. We are supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully, it won't amount to much. In a week we'll be in Salt Lake City where, no doubt, there will be some of that white stuff...

Keep on smokin',
