Frost last night?

We've never had frost in August but it appears we had it last night (Aug 27). But the temps right now (when I took the pic) were 10oC (~51oF) so I'm puzzled. There are forest fires on the West coast but thats 2700 miles away so I don't think it's ash.

I can't (easily) take the screens off the window.

Len, think it's time you and I move to the deep south or even Mexico...
I cringe at the very thought of this winter's forecast....
it's 56ºF (13ºC) now... and I'm FREEZING!!

Im in Texas and its going to be hot for a while 100 today and 99 for hi's all weekend. I would gladly take 50 degrees.

An hour later with the sun now in play, that frost is gone (but still in place where there is shadow). Don't think it's ash.

The overnight low on Thursday for Georgetown Ontario was 12c, or 53F. That ain't frost.

I suggest those are wet spots from overnight condensation that are reflecting the sky from your angle. Note it's not on all of the shingles.
