Fish & chips

I caught this nice cut throat earlier this morning.
It was a bit over 16 inches.
I figured it was all I needed for the two of us so it was a short day to the fishing hole.

I paired this with some garlic fry’s for my version of fish & chips.
Fresh local fish has always been one of our favorites and this fish didn’t disappoint.

I don’t eat a lot of French fry’s and serving everything at the same time wasn’t going to be easy so I did the twice fried method and it saved the meal.

So here is a first,
When I cleaned the fish, I found a red treble hook in its stomach.
I’ve never found someone’s hook in a fish before.
You guys ever find an extra hook in a fish belly?

As usual the trout here have that red tasty salmon looking meat.
It’s not quite the same as salmon and it’s not as bland as trout.
Makes for a good trout, mayo and onion Sammie too.
