First Restoration Project - Genesis 1100?

Hello all.
Excited to be here. I just inherited this Weber, looks to be in good shape and works.
Based on my initial research I believe that it is a Weber Genesis 1100? Is it considered "Gen 1"?
Any way to know what year it was made?
(The serial # and other info is worn off in the sticker on side of controls.)

I looked, but couldn't find it pictured in the brochures on here.

I plan on giving it a thorough cleaning to see exactly what I've got then I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions.

Are parts readily available?
Assume that if I restore it, I should be able to get many more years of use out of it? Looks to have cast iron grates also.

I really like the "vintage" look of it vs the new Webers.
Have so much to learn...

Thanks everyone. Eric

That is a Genesis 1000. The Gen 1 that you refer to is actually "Genesis 1" from the Genesis 1-5 family which are very similar to the later Genesis 1000-5000 family. Yours is probably early to mid 1990's.

My quick advice is to try to take it slow on that very nice grill. I totally agree with you about the vintage look vs. the boring stainless junk out in front of Lowes, etc.

I suggest you take some time to look at posts about grills like yours and our resources for parts. It is very tempting to start buying a ton of new OEM parts, but there are often better alternatives. Some things need to be replaced while some can be restored. Some imported after market stuff is not very good, but other products are.
