First Grill on my Broilmaster (Ribeye Steaks)

Last night I tested out my new Broilmaster P4. This grill is fantastic! Heats up fast too. I buried the needle past 700°F in 6 min. Soon after buried the needle so far past 700 that it was about to make it's way up the second time around lol. I'd say easily hits 800°F+. The way the juices drip to the ceramic tiles and flair back up is like a well orchestrated fire dance with the perfect amount of flame sear. The vent on the back of the lid is so much bigger than any other grill I've had. I wasn't sure it would hold heat but it definitely does hold heat very well.

So the Ribeye Steaks were a bit smaller than I'm use to grilling and this grill gets hot so I shortened my grill time to 2.5 min. Each side. 5 min. Total. It was good but could have been a tiny bit less time. I'm a one flip steak griller. Definitely happy with first grill session. Looking forward to more grilling with it! The other stuff on the plate is left over baked potato salad.

Holy high heat! I I'm glad you like it because I'm really looking forward to see what it looks like with your refurbishing hand at the wheel. Always fun to see your projects!
Thanks Eric! This grill is impressing me and I'm excited to take it apart and make some custom wood flip tables for the sides and the front. Its American made and pretty much built like a tank but has a design challenge. The lack of flavorizer bars with ceramic briquettes or plates in its place is excellent for grilling excellent food but leaves the burner and igniter vulnerable and less protected from Grease drippings. Meaning even though this Grill is built like a tank and works extremely well it may need occasional maintenance or parts changed compared to a classic vintage Weber Genesis. Just some give and take pointed out with expectations and understanding that nothing is perfect.

That's a really interesting grill, Josh. I've never seen one in the wild. Very cool design. I like that you can flip the grates, too, for some raised height. You could do a kick*** pizza on that!

That right is going to be extra sweet with your skills. The side and front tables will rock.

Is it lp or ng?
It's LP with the tank inside the base and goes in from the back side.
This is a newer model still in production with stainless steel and plastic flip table options but the vintage ones dating back to at least the early '70s had wood flip tables. Other than that they look very similar to what they did back then. So this one will be a style throwback to the early years with custom wood tables using the modern stainless steel flip table brackets to attach them. I have a lot of IPE Ironwood (Brazilian walnut) I've already started finishing some of it for my current Genesis Junior restoration. I'll definitely use that same wood on this Broilmaster P4.

Here's what it looks like now.

And here's some inspirational pics of vintage ones. None of them are exactly what I have in mind but definitely giving me ideas.

Good point about grilling pizza on my Broilmaster P4. I'll definitely share pics when I do.
