First Cook on the JJ Pork and C-Flower

I finally had a chance to break in my JJ.

Started with cauliflower with some Italian dressing on it.

I added some pork loin chops that had been marinating in teriyaki sauce.

Put a little char on the c-flower.

All done.

I can tell that this grill is going to be one of my favorites. So glad I finally found a JJ.

Thanks for looking.

Pat that's a great dinner you did on the JJ. I'd get to Walmart fast because that size dog bowl sells out fast. Rich had to go back 2 or 3 times before they had the bowls in again. Pat again congrats on the JJ cook outstanding.

Nice cook Pat, I love our JJ and the dog bowl vortex works great. The last few cooks I've done on it have been with leftover coals from the smokers and performer, which is perfect for the JJ for quick cooks.
The only complaint I have is the ash catcher on the JJ is worthless the slightest wind will blow it off, really a poor design.

Pat.
My teeny-weeny vortex is 3[SUP]7[/SUP]/[SUB]16[/SUB]" high. When sitting on the charcoal grate it is just under the cooking grate.
It's 5" small opening. 8.25" large opening. It'll take 25-30 briqs to fill it.

You must have the ash pan sitting on top of the 3 tabs then. The pan goes under those tabs and they hold it down against the legs. It fits pretty tight and actually works well when you get it under the tabs. I had the same problem at first until I realized I was putting the pan on wrong.
