Finally No Wind and a Couple of Cooks

Yesterday the wind was way down so we cooked up a couple of meals on the performer.

Had some thighs we did with a mixture of Trader Joes salt free 21 season salute and Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb. That’s tomorrow’s dinner.
Tonight’s was a couple of pork steaks done with Weber’s Steak ‘n Chop and Stubb’s BBQ sauce with first of the season fresh corn on the bone, seasoned with EVOO, butter and Weber’s Roasted Garlic & Herb and a small baked tater.

Tonight’s dinner was great even the corn was great for this early.

Will be grilling whenever we get a break in the winds but it usually lasts through April into May, then its fire season and no charcoal time if it gets bad enough.

Great looking eats. I have yet to do pork steak, but yours looks darn good. I hope your fire season is not too bad this year.

Wow, that is some great lookin' food. I hear you on the wind. We don't notice it here at the new place as bad as we did at the old place, the wind still can get blowing.

Its been crazy windy here too! I live in a fire zone and recently got the letter from the fire dept. Got to get rid of the weeds by the end of the month.
Pork steaks and the sides look real great!

Nice cook! Wind is key. I planned a cook last weekend, had 4 chickens rubbed, turned out to get really windy around smoking time so it was hard to get the smoker above 250 with all vents 100%. I usually prefer to cook chicken at 275+. Good that you got to sneak a smoke in with the wind.
