Family Reunion Time 2015 (Pic Heavy!)

So, Pammi and I found out earlier this year that our great nieces wanted to come to our house for this years' reunion. We had planned on going somewhere else with just the pups, but since everyone is so scattered out, we said ok!
First things first, a trip to the beer store!

This was on top of the local beers that are unpasteurized and needed to stay cold. Seriously, this was about a day and a half's worth! (We REALLY like to drink beer!)
People were going to start getting here on Monday, but things got bumped up. My great nephew found out at the last minute that he couldn't make it from St. Louis, so my niece, her husband and daughter left from Missouri on Saturday and my sister flew out Sunday. This also meant that Mom was coming earlier on Sunday. Not a problem at all! But I gotta FEED 'em! Chickens just happened to be on sale! Yay! Birds spatched and seasoned with SPOG on the under side, then compound butter with herbs straight from our back yard under the skin went on the kettle using the charcoal baskets.

These were served with an orzo salad and some foiled green beans on the gasser.

Monday, my nephew, his wife and 3 kids flew down from Maine. After lunch and a couple trips to the pool. I served two pans of Paella. My nieces' husband has a shellfish allergy, so I made one pan with the classic chorizo/chicken/shrimp combo I like and one pan no shrimp. I told everyone that there would be no trips to the ER unless you first said," Hold my beer and watch this!"
Classic and the broth on the gasser.

I usually try to put the chicken on to get some grill marks on it, but with the two grills going, I just put it in.

Wednesday rolls around, and my sister, her significant other from New Hampshire, my Dad from New Jersey, and my great niece from Maine showed up. They left NJ about 7, but detoured through Delaware and the Hampton Roads area of Virginia! Not sure why, but they picked up some little neck clams! Woo hoo! Unfortunately, it made them late for burgers!
I ground my usual short rib/chuck/sirloin mixture, seasoned with SPOG before grinding and made a couple dozen sliders. Cooked in two batches on the kettle.

This was a short time later. I have to feed it coal pretty regularly to get it to temp, but it is sooo worth it!

With so many pies to cook, we precooked the crust and finished in the oven.

Thursday morning, I took the butts off about 11. We then went and picked up our youngest brother who was flying down from Maine!
Being the older siblings, we decided that he needed to come with us on the 2nd Annual Perrin Family tattoo Day!
This is us waiting for our appointment.

Yeah,I'm kind of a Batman geek!
Afterwards, we ALL went to tour a brewery that was just down the street from the tattoo parlor. A beer or two later and we headed back to the house. Unfortunately, it started raining just before we got home, so everyone squeezed into the house!
But the food was awesome! Pammi doctored up some beans and put them on the smoker about 2.

Friday, my nephew and his family had to fly home. :( But I still had family here, so another dinner was cooked and consumed!
Pammi got some cod and marinated it in tequila and lime juice for an hour. And remember the clams my sister got? Those got cooked too!
I rinsed the clams several times to clean the sand out.

While fish was cooking, the clams were simmering in a beer with fresh herbs! This is after the first bunch was done.

So now, everyone is gone except for our great niece from Maine. Her mom and dad are coming down next month, so she's gonna stay and chill for a few weeks. Tomorrow, LEFTOVERS! LOL! Thanks for looking everyone!

What a feast (s) Phil. Congratulations on the reunion. Looks like you and Pammi did a great job. Nice improv on the pizza.

Great Job both of you! Some great cooks there, I got tired just looking at the pictures, a lot of work but good times.
