I like easy birds ( a lot) .....awesome!.

May I ask why in the skillet and not on the grate ( I have the weber gourmet skillet as yet unused lol)so would appreciate your experience and wisdom

Thanks Sunil, but I have no wisdom:D (seriously!)
I used the skillet to keep the chicken "grease" from causing flare-ups... and using the skillet, the bird (I believe) is actually roasting, not really grilling. Underneath is an entire grate of hot charcoal, and without the skillet, the bird be burnt.

au contraire Sunil, chicken should be nakid over the hot coals when makin' roadside...
you want flare-ups to enhance the flavour of the bird and it's skin with the sauce and the juices...
oh yeah, leave that skillet hanging when grillin' roadside... ;)
 
I guess I'm the only weirdo in the bunch, butt, I'm sorry. The pic of you squeezing the cob from the husk, with a glove on no less, I'm gonna stop right there :confused: And, I'll be doing the same with my corn soon. Beautiful chicken too, Jim!
That reminds me! I need to get my DOT physical soon.
