Drumsticks

Cooked some drumsticks. Nothing fancy. Seasoning is Meatheads Memphis dust. Sauced them (I slightly over-sauced to them) with Sweet baby Ray's 10 minutes before they were done.

I cooked indirect at 375 with the deflector. I know it's upside down in the photo. I cooked on it early in the week and really didn't clean it that well so I flipped it over to burn off the remnants of the prior cook.

Do you find Meathead’s Memphis dust to be a bit sweet on chicken? I find mysel diluting SBRs with apple cider vinegar when I use iron chicken to reduce the sweetness. Probably just my taste profile but curious what others do and think. And some Tabasco in SBRs is good too.

I do not find the Memphis dust to be too sweet. I think it's about half sugar anyway. There's a lot of it in there.

Tonight I was going to do buffalo wing sauce but changed it up the last minute and did sweet baby Ray's.

I do like sweet baby Ray's. As is.

I do have some habanero hot sauce. Way too hot for us. So last week I mixed it with some sweet baby Ray's. One part habanero sauce to four parts Sweet baby Ray's. It was both sweet with a lot of heat.

Next time I do the chicken wings I'm going to try that. The brand is actually buffalo wing habanero mango. Never had it before but I saw some reviews on youtube. And I figured I would try it out. Way too freaking hot right out of the bottle.
