Date with the CEO under the Lemon Tree

So tonight is the first night all summer when the CEO and I are not cooking for teen agers, our and others. and home from college types.
Picked up some choice NY Strip, nice thick ones.

All the suspects lined up

El Cheapo getting fired up with some lump

Shallots soaking in some EVOO and S&P and Asparagus with some EVOO smoked paprika, S& White Pepper, garlic granules

Sweet Potatoes on for about half an hour then Shallots in the CI

Some nice 2010 French Rhone to keep me steady under all this stress

Shallots done and the meat on indirect while the Grill Grates are doing the Gus

Some unexpected gate crashers trying to get in

The steak after the first turn, love me some Grill Grates

Oh Bob, at least three, sometimes more of those gate crashers find their way into my freezer every year. My family grew up eating venison, pheasant, duck, chukar, grouse, turkey etc. all year long. Best eating in the world.
