Dalstrong Knives

Anyone have any experience with these knives?

Somehow I got on their mailing list and the Omega series caught my eye. After months of consideration, I finally gave in and ordered
a 6" filet/boning knife. It's very pretty and came with a nice leather sheath.

A couple years ago, I bought the 6" Victorinox boning knife recommended by Chris. I love it and use it for almost everything.
I have only used the Dalstrong for one meal and so far cannot tell that it's really any better than the Victorinox.

But I sure like the looks of it. :giggle: 20220616_175529.jpg20220616_175713.jpg20220616_175740.jpg

It is certainly a beautiful knife. I am not familiar with them.

I actually use my filleting knife almost exclusively for craft projects. I don't really fillet anything, but a long/slender/pointy/flexible knife is good for cutting and carving foam.

Interesting that you do almost everything with a fillet knife. I might try that. Usually my go to is a 10" chef knife.

Yeah, it’s pretty and I see NO reason not to use pretty equipment whenever possible. I have an Ernest Warther 10” chef’s knife that my wife bought me twenty some years ago, I carry that in my “porta kitchen” tool box, it is my constant companion when I travel. If I go to anyones house I seem to often be the one asked to carve or butcher or simply slice something and my knives are sharp, I know them.
And when having the ritual massive steak at the cottage, it’s my tableware! The bayonet fork was a gift from my mother a few years before she passed. The “Rada“ aluminum handled thing is just at the cottage. I avoid that, doesn’t fit my hand.36981C74-9993-429E-93AB-628A11984D44.jpeg

I know - Was not intentional, it just sort of casually took over for my 8" chef and 6" utility knives.
Must be just the right size for my hand or something. I use it to slice tri-tip and fajita meat too. 🤷‍♀️

This Dalstrong is a bit heavier. We'll see if that makes any difference in my "go-to".

Believe it or not, that's one of the dog towels (clean). LOL
I keep a stack of them by the dryer. They come in so handy for dogs and various projects around the house.
We get 25 (count?) at Costco. Keep a bunch in the kitchen drawer and more in the dryer. They get used for everything. Once worn and stained, the become grilling or car wash towels.

Don't know anything about them, but that is a beautiful knife. They are very reasonably priced and highly rated on Amazon.

They seemed to get pushed a lot on barbecue youtube channels. I use primarily Victorinox knives. I'm very utilitarian when it comes to that. Nothing fancy. A Victorinox knife and a cheapo Accu-sharp sharpener and I'm good to go. Also when it comes to sharpness I like "sharp enough" I don't want the knife to snag and be dangerous and to cut smoothly, but there's also "I just cut off my thumb and didn't feel it" sharp.
