Does look like a pretty good specimen. However, I think they just sprayed the lid with water to dress it up. I am not an expert, but I don't think they made them shiny like that and usually they were a more flat or satin finish and a charcoal color.
 
Looks like he might have just transfered some Silver B parts over to an older Genesis 2 frame. The one thing I would like to see is if/how he modified the left hand side of the frame for the flip up table. Did he weld in a support bracket from a silver B or some other type of bracket? Or maybe the swing table just is there for show and won't actually stay up.
 
I have often times thought about that. I do like the simplicity, function, durability and stability of the thermoset tables over the slat grills. That being said, I also much prefer the look of the slats, and no plastic end caps. Whether durawood or real wood.
 
I am thinking you could probably use a genesis 1000 end cap bracket to hold the swing table instead of the full plastic handle. I can't say I have ever tried it, but it seems like it would work.
