Mark, that's a nice looking grill but it's a Genesis 3000 not a Silver C. It has the wrong handle on it.

Steve, thanks for settin' me straight, the red lid was taken off a newer Silver, I just left the handle on.
The grills not perfect, it's not a restoration just a redo/refurbish job

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with mixing and matching parts. I wasn't sure you knew the description of the grill was wrong. That's the only reason I pointed it out.

I have a lid that I took off the grill and really don't know if it was painted or just coated with a bunch of nasty crud. I guess I should scrape some of the stuff off and see what I got.

When I go out to do some grill work in a little while, maybe I will grab it and hit it with a little grill clearer to marinate a bit and then try to clean off a spot and see what I got.
