Discover what I think were two packs of boneless CSRs from February in the bowels of the freezer.
Decided to do my smoked and sauced CSR recipe along with some beans and mac salad.
First up I made Cliffs root beer beans not shown is the bacon.
Before cooking the beans I got the mini set up for the CSRs
Homemade bacon for the beans cooked in the ci on the stove top.
The beans were cooked on the gasser indirect at about 350 for 50 minutes and cooled and put in the fridge until dinner time.
CSRs with my rib rub after 2 ½ hours at 225 with apple smoke, ready to be sauced.
The sauce is made from 2 cups of apple juice and 1 ½ cups Stubbs regular BBQ sauce with 1TBS. of Penzeys Arizona Dreaming.
Everybody into the pool
Covered and onto the gasser indirect at 325 for 2-2 ½ hours until fork tender.
Done and ready for course shredding
Served over white rice with Cliff’s beans and Barbs mac salad as the sides.
This is the second time I’ve made CSRs this way and Barb and I really like it.
