Chilies Rellenos

First time I've cooked them 100% outside. It went well, although it got dark & couldn't take any more pix. Anaheims stuffed with a Mexican melting cheese. Used the gasser as the oven to bake them while I grilled the Carne Asada. You'll have to take my word for it about the Carne Asada. No plated pix. It got late & we were hungry.

I'll be doing this again as Hatch Green Chilies will be in the stores soon!

I love your chili roaster! Did you make that?

I hate to sound like the safety police, but why do you have your pan of oil down on the fire grate, instead of on the cooking grid? Seems like having the oil further from the fire would be a good idea.

I've got anchos and anaheims both screaming for this treatment. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks! Yes, I made it.

That's a Dutch oven that I used to heat the oil. Being next to or on top of coals is not a problem. I did get the oil a bit overheated, and the first few rellenos got a little "toasty".

This was a shake-down cook & next one will go much smoother. My new to me 2013 Performer made it a lot easier because of the table.

I love Chili Rellanos, love them in burritos, and plain-old stuffed peppers. Those look amazing.
