Ok guys, powder coater says the coating is rated at 900 degrees so I think im good unless I put the grill on high and leave it on overnight.

They are gonna coat only the outside of the cookbox and leave the flat part of the inside of the lid end caps bare.

Fingers crossed it turns out how im picturing it !

I had my cook box and end caps on my frankengrill powder coated with HH. Three years later they are doing just fine. I think the guy said they HH Powder coat was rated for 900 degrees.

This is exactly what they told me Bruce

Yea I wonder if I shoulda let them powder the insides of the lids...

I dont know who knows, lets see how it turns out. They said it could be possible for a bit of over spray in the cookbox so hopefully thats nothing terrible

I would not worry about a little over spray. That is expected.

I never used it, I ended up selling it. The guy that bought it has been very happy with it. I

They told me it was safe. I don't know, it was a pretty big company that did the work. I just didn't like the way it looked, on the inside anyway. Outside was great.

Ok guys, got the stuff from the powdercoater. I think I shoulda just painted myself. Im waiting for a call back from the shop owner. Quality is meh. They supervisor tried to tell me the texture is in the coating but its too inconsistent for that to be true...

The frame pieces turned out really good. The cookbox is pretty good except those few blobs. 2 of the side panels are decent, 2 look like crap in my opinion.

Well it's hard to say. I have seen imperfections of this type in aluminum castings but I can't tell if that is what I'm seeing or defective paint work
