Been too Long Since I Did One of Theses

Next up was a pork shoulder I had lurking in the freezer since September. A 5 ½ pounder which I covered with my homemade rib rub and injected with AJ and some of the rub. Apple and cherry for the smoke and a steady 225 on the 18.5WSM.
Took a little over 11 hours with the low temp cook, but it was worth it, just butter tender and great flavor and lots of yummy bark.
Made my version of Cliff’s root beer beans along with some fries and tots.

Have a great week.

Looks pretty good. I made one in Jan for Christmas requests. Then the weather reminded me it was still winter.

We got 3-4 inches of snow yesterday. Sunny, but cold today. Friday's forecast is 61...and YES, I will be smoking. :wsm:

I currently have 3 butts and 2 briskets in the freezer. I purchased 3 Corned Beef Brisket Points today...but that's another (soon to be) thread. :)

That grill grate and smoker looks way to clean Rich;), but that shoulder came out excellent.

Well now didn't you have a productive day! What a great bark you got on that pork. It looks delicious! I don't have Cliff's root beer bean recipe but I will search it. We've been cooking the same bean recipe for about 3 years which we love but its always fun to try new things! Great job Rich. And congrats on the weather. It is rumored we may be approaching 70 up here on Saturday. Sounds great to me!

Great looking cook Rich!!! By the way...my dogs are angry that the bone came out that clean!!!! Nice plate!!!!

Looks great Rich. It's been so long since I did some serious outdoor cooking. Building and extension to my deck when the weather breaks and can move the meat candy machines closer for easy access. Looks great though bro.

Best looking butt I've seen for awhile! (don't tell Jo I said that :))
Your pics are always great, but these look even more greater!
same camera?

Thanks Bob, It's just a little Nikon Coolpix L18 my Daughter gave me because she uses her smart phone camera instead.
Even a blind squirrel gets lucky once in a while and finds an acorn ;).

Mac, No I didn't wrap it. This is the first one I haven't wrapped, one of the reasons I did a low temp cook. I will from now on do it this way, I think I got a better product with this type of cook.
