Just for fun i tried this after all your Blooming onion posts.

Bacon weaved garlic and herb stuffed barbecued sweet Maui onion.

Semi cooked the bacon weave.

Ready for the grill, just need to cut the water soaked alien antenna skewers off at the onion.;)

Added this Tri-Tip to the equation.

While the Tri-Tip was resting i added a few coals and the onion mushrooms and the Brussels were getting there grove on.

For a first time the bacon weave onion was quite good.

Here is the one i'm pondering next,(SMOKER/BBQ) what can be done with this.

1. *** Potatoes on a skewer.
2. What would you put between the potatoes?
3. TonyR gets 1000 people liking his post for you should use some bacon.
4. It's an optical illusion.

Just having some fun....late

Bet that onion was great! Not to take anything away from that delish proten and tasty looking side.

Thanks all.

You vulcan death gripped that onion. What about thin discs of sausage or burger between the potato?

Vulcan death grip good one Jason, and some thin sausage might be tasty, ill post something when i give it a try.

Okay back to see what you guy/gals cooked on this great forum.

Jeff,

Great ideas. Love the weave on the onion - I will be adding that to the mix. Try thick slicing a sweet onion and putting that between the potato slices. You could smother the whole thing in cheese sauce after pulling it and call it 'deconstructed scalloped potatoes'...

regards,

John
