We just got back from a few days on Cape Cod. We stayed with some dear friends and caught up on old times.
Here's the view from Charlie and Fran's back deck, overlooking the pines and out toward the salt marsh of Orleans.
We did the Provincetown whale watch one day and saw this female humpback breach. Very cool.
We ate some great food (lobster rolls, etc.), but the best was the dinner Charlie and Fran made the last night there: Clams and linguine with tomato and basil from their garden. Doesn't get any better.
And here we are. I'm on the left, tummy full.
While down east, I noticed on Facebook that a certain TVWBB member was also staying nearby. Jeff Biesinger, his lovely wife and daughter met us one eve for ice cream. Great to finally meet you brother! Sorry for the bad pic -- iPhone at night...
We had an eventless drive home (yay!), picked up some groceries and checked on the veg garden. Today's haul was green beans and purple beans. The purple cooks out and they green up. Set those aside and did the regular green tonight.
We picked up some sunburst squash and local corn in Rhode Island on the way home. Love lil' Rhody!
Grilled up the squash, corn and burgers.
...And plated 'er up. Squash drizzled with balsamic, salt and good EVOO.
There's no place like home.
Thanks for the visit. Glad I was able to share the fun.
