Apple smoked mini Turkey

I bought a just under 9 lb. turkey for Thanksgiving, as it will be for just the two of us. Perfect amount, as we both had to work on Black Friday. We decided to just stay home on Turkey day, and kick back, watch a lot of football, relax and enjoy the down time. Very simple, indirect with 4 good size chunks of Apple wood for smoke. It took 2hrs to bring breast up to 165F, and another 30 minutes of rest under foil. Bird came out perfect, very juicy, good flavor.

great price for this little bird.

Great warm weather in Southern California Mountains.

4 big chunks of apple wood.

Holding steady, sure smells good.

Nice color, bird is ready.

Good eats!

Thanks for looking :)

I love your view and the view of that nicely done bird. I told SWMBO I have no idea why we don't have turkey more often. This bird looks like a perfect small size bird that could be done throughout the year. Especially if it's done as nicely as this fine example.

Very nice bird Michael, just the right size. Spent quite a bit of time up at Crestline when we lived in SoCal, pretty area.

Thats a awesome bird Michael, great color and so yummy looking. Like the mountain pic, like Rich said spent a lot of good times up at Crestline.

Thanks everybody! I also enjoyed viewing all of your Turkey cooks over this Thanksgiving. They all looked very tasty too!!!

Great view! Great execution! And great looking sliced breasts. That must be a sharp knife. I beat up my breasts a little getting through crispy skin then juicy meat.
