Anyone Else in this Boat - Not Cooking?

So I'm going to mom's for T-Day this year so I won't be cooking. Seems very odd, I go to the store and everyone is loading-up on T-Day items etc. Even though I'm going to spend time with the family (which I'm greatly looking forward to) still missing getting a bird in a bath of Jack Daniels and Maple syrup this evening. Oh well, I'll at least get to carve the birds mom has catered in . . . Happy T-Day to all you lucky cusses brining your birds tonight!

Sounds like you need to do a bird soon, even if just for the helluva it!

You're right, was going to do one this past weekend but I was "baching" it so I didn't. Thinking about maybe doing one for a party for the neighbors soon.
 
Happy turkey day Larry!! Hope turkey day at moms is awesome!! I'd do your own TD dinner after the weekend but that's just me!

I'm in that boat. Will be getting together with family, but not cooking. And I feel all empty inside knowing I won't get my Apple brined turkey and JD Maple turkey. Good news is, turkey will be on sale soon and I can do some for myself. :wsm:
 
Wow Larry what a bummer....from what I've seen of your previous posts you are the go to Turkey expert. I will be brining my bird tonight, sorry to hear you won't be doing the bird tomorrow.

Thanks James, I do OK on the birds. Recently posted a Turkey cook video that I went back and watched and bummed me out even more LOL. The upside is I have tickets to the Utes game on Saturday if I want to go!
 
I'm not cooking for T-day this year, but I've got a big packer in the fridge that I'll be cooking over the weekend, just because. :)
 
Larry; I'm in the same boat! Visiting family and the cooking is all taken care of... but I do get to bring the wine!! Champagne, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Port! I'll bring some Martinelli's sparkling cider for the kids too. I've got a 12lb bird that I'll grill next week when we get home.

In great company, I'm the "booze" guy too this year. Similar menu as yours except I didn't get anything for the kids. Thanks for the reminder!

There is always Christmas to cook the bird or any given weekend. If the weather was good I would go to the Ute game if I were you....it's kind of like going to their bowl game....the toilet bowl that is. Have a good one Larry.
