Really nice looking plate of chow, John! I like how you load your plate - I look at my pics sometimes and think: where's the beef?

Man, at only 9:15am, I could really go for that. Nice going, John. Especially like the shells.

looks AWESOME John!
I've eeten EXECELLENT Al Pastor at restaurants and tried making it at home... but never found the "right" fit, or the same taste...
I LOVE THE STUFF! Could eet it EVERYDAY! Honestly!!
Buying it mixed but uncooked from the local Mexican Mercado is perfect!

John, where do you get your chorizo from? Do you make your own sopecitos?

I picked up everything at the Mercado. I do have a Chorizo recipe that people swear by but I haven't tried making it yet. I will PM you the recipe later

Great looking meal John - very traditional. I have never tried the Al Pastor but I thnink that will change soon - if I can find a source for it around here...

Regards,

John

No, I get them at the store. I think they make them at the store, just like they make their own tortillas.

I figured you made your own sausage and brats sometimes. I guess brats are all over the place there. Just like carne asada here, there are so many places that sell good marinated carne asada at a decent price, what is the point of making your own.

What mercado do you go to John?

I went to Northgate Market on 43rd street off of the 805. If you haven't been there go, they have everything but do not go on in the afternoon on Sat or Sun, its a madhouse and hard to find parking. They also have the meatiest beef ribs I have found but they don't have them all of the time. They are not in the meat case they are in a case down my the eggs.
