Acquired Weber Summer Platinum D6, rebuild help please.

The key was finding a shop to fab up the front panel. Do you have that panel yet? What material is it made out of? Can you post some photos of it?

I don’t believe anyone will be disappointed by your restoration, they are just sharing their experiences with their grills. I have the identical grill fueled with LP. I was fortunate enough to fabricate pieces at no cost, my only expenditures were paint and several stainless steel fasteners. I will eventually need to fabricate flavorizer bars in a year or so. Other than that, pieces such as burner tubes and igniters will normally wear out. Good luck on your restoration!

Glad you got it sorted out, Dion! When you've got it all polished up, share some pics of the grill, and, more importantly, some of the food you get to cooking on it!

So started to make some progress, looks like will only need to purchase tubes and full switch kit. And with about 20 hours of work and help from local high school metal shop (flavor bars and front box panel) will be all in for about $320 total. Including the $50 i paid for it. Sorry to disappoint the people that said it was going to be money pit.
Were you ever able to identify the part numbers needed for your restoration? I have this exact grill and am in the middle of my restoration.
Here are the part numbers.
Ignitor kit for Summit Gold B/B6 is part no. 42325
Burner tube kit, Summit 6 Burner Gold/Platinum A/B is part no. 85662
Set of flavorizer bars for 6 Burner Summit A/B is part no. 9897

Happy grilling

I received notification from Weber that my lid assembly was shipped and scheduled to arrive via FedEx on Christmas Eve. I also found a better quality wheel from Broil King. Good luck on your restoration!

Merry Christmas to me, but the cheap stamped logo has to go.

How did your resto work out? I would be interested in seeing your results. I finished mine, everything is working good, even the rotisserie burner.
