This was my 2nd attempt with the kettlepizza oven. the 1st time i tried it i built the fire on the charcoal grate (full chimney of weber briquets then some birchwood.)
This time i thought why not put the fire on the same level as the pizza is at, as in a real pizza oven. this worked far better, temps were in the 700f range after i had put some kiln dried birch on!
Best pizzas i have made to date, i have yet to get a pizza stone. i used a 16in 1/4in mild steel plate for the base of the oven then used the supplied pizza tray to cook it on, got some nice leaparding on the base to.
