1st time taking GrillGrates on vacation

I bought the bag, to have an easy way to pack the grates for tailgating this season. We rented a cabin this week which has a cheap Char-Broil gasser.
I have a 3-panel set, for one of my 22" kettles. I wrapped each one in butcher paper, (I have a gazillion foot roll😆), and stuck them in the carry bag. It's divided in two separate compartments. The grates fit on one side, a pair of tongs, a pair of welders gloves, a couple of thermometers and a temp probe, (on a spool), fit in the bag with a little room to spare.

The grates really came in handy and made the cheap grill perform like a champ. Not pimping GrillGrates, but wanted to share how much easier it was to use a strange grill. I replaced the OEM grates with a set, on the Genny Silver B, so I'm in my comfort zone when I cook on them.

Good idea! Great food! The first thing I do at a rental is clean the grill. I’ve had some horrible and dangerous experiences.

I have the stock-set for my Weber Smoky Joe and 3 separate panels for my Weber Performer Deluxe which I purchased a couple of years back and as of today remain one happy "Grill Grates Customer":)

I love 'em!
I have a half-moon set that fits over the SnS for the Performer, a full set that repla ced the OEM grates on the Genny B, and the set that's pictured in the OP.
I bought the bag to lug them to tailgates, to use on the Q 2000. I brought them on this trip as a lark. I'm glad that I did, because the Char-broil is a turd of a grill.

Sometimes they try to trick you! The cover looked brand new, I was all excited...
At least it was pretty clean, I’ve had lots where I had to do a deep cleaning before I’d even attempt to light them.
The nicest one I’ve had was a Spirit at a cabin in the Finger Lakes NY

We stayed at a cabin in the Smokys back when I owned just a gasser.

The cabin had a Weber kettle, and we used it for some basic grilling like steaks and burgers. It was my first time fooling with charcoal in years, and it sort of nudged me toward my eventual purchase of a WSM, nice kettle, etc.

Maybe Weber should consider a promotion campaign to supply rental cabins with their products at a reduced price. Have some promo materials for the renters. Pamphlet: "Would You Like to Own a Weber Grill Like This?"

Well, I finally got lucky. Just checked in to a place in Upstate NY, best grills I’ve ever had at a rental! A Genesis II and a Blackstone! The house is great too!
