1st smoke - season?

Hey all. Just put together my new 14.5" WSM. Does anyone recommend doing a dry run to break it in? I didn't know if there was a seasoning process or if I needed to burn the factory oils off the grates. I figured I could wash the grates but did not know about the rest of the smoker.

No you don't need to, just wash off the grates and get to smoking:wsm:

I'll second that. I didn't do anything special when I got my 18.5"wsm. I just put a rack of ribs in and started smokin. It was some awesome ribs too. Your going to love it!
 
I agree no seasoning required per se but I would cook fatty type foods to get a nice seasoning to it for the first 5 cooks or so. I think I did a fattie, chicken pork butt, ham, etc.
