18.5 vs. 22.5 I know its an old question but


 
Good choice. I usually cook for 2 (sometimes 8 - 12) & have the 18.5. Would not want to part with it, however got a 14.5 a year ago & it sees most of the action. The 18.5 is a fuel hog compared to the 14.5. & like mentioned before: get the expandable hanging rack.
 
I built a 14.5 mini and love it it's fuel efficient and easy to handle. Last summer I picked up an 18.5 off of CL so I could have more room. it works well but for the wife and I the mini is always first call. If I had to have just one I would keep the 18.5 so I would have the added room if I needed it when the kids come out to AZ, but I could never in our situation justify a 22.5
