I heard somewhere that the next time sequential numbers as a date will be 1, 2, '34.

You probably already saw this, but there was a baby born in Cleveland on Saturday at 10:11. Coupled with date...10,11, 12, 13, 14.
 
There were a number of people featured on the news getting married at 10:11 am on 12/13/14.

If you're particular about requiring both digits as part of the sequence, the next sequential date is January 2, 2103: 01/02/03. If not, you've got 1/2/34 and 1/23/45 to look forward to. And there's always 2/2/22!
 
Rumor has it, there were several people getting married at 3:16PM, which when using military time would have been: 12/13/14 15:16

Not sure I'll see 1/2/34 and seriously doubt 1/23/45 but I hope to see 2/2/22
