Rotisserie...for the grill, or for the smoker?

Hi Folks,

I've been considering a rotisserie. I have an 18" WSM, and a 22" Kettle...which makes more sense for the rotisserie? (also a jumbo joe, but I can't imagine hauling the rotisserie around, so portability isn't a concern....unless it should be?)

Thanks ahead for your thoughts!

IMO, although I use both a "gas" grill and a WSM, I only have a rotisserie for the grill. There is no direct flame when smoking so I honestly can't see a need.

I have one for my Kettle and I am super happy with it being on there and not on smoker. Best add-on for the kettle so far.

Yeah years ago (back in the 70's) I bought a large kettle and the rotisserie ring/kit for it. Have to say that was da' bomb

Both...
You could use the 18" without the middle section and then you have the direct heat
I got an 18" rotisserie (for my kettle) and it easily holds 2 small chickens. But since mine is not a deep kettle, I have to be careful with loading the charcoal

I suppose it's up to you, what do you want to cook on it? And for how many people?
I find that my 22" kettle uses too much charcoal....
