Problem with those old ones aren't the handles but the welds. I can see it on this one too.
Even if you put new handles on it eventually the welds are going to fail.
Not sure why they Weber lid bracket welding sucked so bad back then because welding isn't that hard to do.
I did a jerk injected 8# butt 2 weeks ago and it was 20degrees with 35mph winds.
I was thinking that it was going to take about 7hrs but it only took 4hrs to get to 190 thanks to my homemade wind box I made out of plywood.
I ran without water in the pan and kept it at 275 the entire time.

I warm them up on the Performer the next day (or a few days later when doing a grillin' session) and wirebrush'm and call it good.
Let them cool, stick back in the smoker and put the cover on it, roll back in the shed until next time.
Anyone got a list of stamps to years built?
I came across one on CL and the lid/handle is rusting and unless it's still under warranty I'm not going to buy it.
I personally think that Kingsford blue is a junk product that burns fast and gives way too much ash. I use Best Choice hardwood charcoal which has chunks of oak in the charcoal(made in KS).
I get super long smokes (12+ hrs)and rarely use more than a chimney and a half of charcoal.
If I want hot...
No way I'd spend $179 for outdoor speakers that weren't water proof. My luck I'd get all drunk and leave it outside and it would rain and ruin it. I paid about $200 for my outdoor speakers that are connected to my receiver inside.
We buy lobster tails at Sams all the time and here is how I cook them.
Take a kitchen scissors and cut down the center of the back and take a good sharp knife and with the palm of your hand a couple hits down so that it's only butterflied not all the way through.
Then I grill them meat down on...
U guys got balls to let women and kids into it .
They just slow us down so they aren't allowed when we do. We usually do about 6 hogs at a time.
We know exactly how we want things they tend to no tstick with that.
My wife is very happy when she goes and grabs a foodsavered pack of pork chops or...
Both pieces of meat are going to hit a plateau eventually.
Regardless if they get done sooner, I've foiled and wrapped in a towel and put in a cook for up to 4hrs and it was still almost too hot to pull.
I'd say you'll be just fine but I'd cook them a little higher temp.
I dont' ever cook...
I get the 16-20 size uncooked/deveined shrimp.
Thaw out and peel the shrimp except for the tail so that you have a handle while eating. Skewer them using two skewers spread out so that they can't move while on the grill.
I put a citrus rub (I got it at walmart) on them and put it on pretty...
Price went up since last week as it was $229.

They are the cheapest you'll find and always free shipping.
I'd drop an extra $30-40 and get a new one.
I know you can install a thermo and heat pan after the fact but it will cost you that extra money to get them ordered/shipped when you could have just bought new and it be part of the deal..
I love my Performer but if I want to smoke anything it's on...
