    Stoker with Guru Mount?

I bought a GURU mount for the Stoker. It requires a 1/2 in hole drilled in the bottom of the unit. You want it about the same place the factory vents are. Chose a location between the top and bottom 3 holes and drill a new one. The Guru mount is coupled to the stoker blower bay a cheap $1 copper...

    Stoker Setup Video FAQ

Jim, Sorry so late in posting ~ been busy. All you have to do is plug the Stoker into one of those ports not labeled WAN. Boot up the stoker and find its IP address using the front panel System Setup menu. Then use another PC on the network and using a browser type in: http://stoker_ip_address...

Stoker - Wireless communication without Internet

Brian, This all depends on the capability of your main router to forward HTTP requests to the IP address and port of your stoker. If your ISP blocks HTTP requests you'll also need a router that can do a port remap. This is all covered on another thread somewhere here.

    What happens during meat inspection?

For KCBS there is no requirement to keep the original tags or wrapping. Many teams trim brisket, butt, chicken and ribs before they get to the contest and freeze their stuff after cryovacing it. The requirements are: - meat can not be marinated, seasoned or injected b4 inspection - meat needs...

    guru controller dead

Guru blowers only work with guru systems. Same with the probes. Assuming you have the probes and blower in working condition the least expensive option would be probably a Nano-Q. Just ask Bob if your probes/blower is compatible with that unit. If you have to buy a brand new setup then a stoker...

    BBQ classes in the Northeast

This is from Chris Hart pitmaster for IQue. They won the Jack Daniel's World Championship in 2009 and many other grand championships. Cost is $400. I'm considering going. I've taken Chris' class before and it instantly improved our processes and scores. --------- From Chris Hart ----------...

DigiQ DX Fan Size 18.5 WSM

I have a Guru competitor and a 18.5 WSM. The 5CFM fan works fine on it even with the Pro-Q attachment. Just be sure to mount it where there is no ash build up if you are using charcoal.

    Digi-Q mounting ideas?

Just use the standard Guru mount and drill the hole. You can get a silicon stopper for the hole when not using it. Here's a thread with pics about how I mounted my Stoker using a Guru adapter. Standard Guru Mount on WSM If you look through the thread you can see the "dog bowl" method. You...

    DigiQII vs DiqiQ DX

More than likely they'll stop production of the non-DX version. They'll still support it tho. I have the original "Competitor" and can still get parts for it.

    ATC, worth it??

Scott, I have a WSM, a Stoker and a Guru competitor as well as a trailer full of pits and webers. I can tell you that all the top teams in BBQ have some type of power drafting system. If you are competing it makes life simpler and you can use that time not tending the pit for other things such...

    Stokerlog Version 6

Amir, Before I do an re-install of StokerLog I thought I'd save myself some pain and ask what version of the firmware works with this newest version? BTW - check out the latest activity in Bob's Homebrew thread. Ed has an amazing hack on a WRT54G that uses the WRT54G as a project box and talks...

    bbq guru cyberq II question

OK, guess I stand corrected. The last device on the list appears to do just that. However, it does not implement TCP/IP. It uses a new wireless channel so the wireless "dongle" can talk to the wireless hub which in turn talks to the PC. It's not really WiFi (802.xxx) but pretty neat. The range...

    bbq guru cyberq II question

The correct question to ask the Guru guys is, "can I plug my CyberQ2's USB port into a USB Wireless card/hub and access it from my wireless network using a wireless PC. That is, the CyberQ2's only connection would be to the USB WiFi adapter card" If the devices they listed have the capability...

    part #'s?

Jason, There's a whole thread on this here: Bob H's Arduino Temp Controller They are using Maverick replacement probes. I built an analog controller using Polder probes. Either way you'll need a data sheet for it or you can do your own Time vs Resistance chart.
