Unknown model weber gasser nned quick answer

Just saw a picture of a weber 4 burner gas grill for sale. It has what appears to be a flat 2 piece porcelan top that slides away to the left and right to reveal the cooking surface. Unable to tell if the grates are cast iron. It looks like there is no lid to use when cooking, only the 2 piece...

    Brisket rest

I've been smoking for 2 years now and currently have what is only my third brisket on the smoker. Was going thru some old posts last night and it looks like some people are adding apple juice or some other liquid to the foil when resting. Does this have a significant impact in obtaining a nice...

    Grate part number needed

I'm looking for the part number for the PCCI grates for my craig's list find. It is a Genesis 3 burner with the side stove top burner and lights in the handle. What model do I have and can anyone tell me the part number for the grates so I can be sure to order the right ones. I went to the Weber...

    Grate confusion

Guys I am somewhat confused on cooking grates for the Genesis. I purchased one from CL about a month ago and it came with what I would describe as a cheap grate. Today I found one for a friend on CL and it has heavy cast iron grates. When I look on-line all I see a PCCI, are there also standard...

    5 LB propane tank

Yesterday I picked up a beautiful green SS performer off CL for $40. What I didn't realize until today when looking at the owners manual was that it requires a 5 LB tank. Looking on line they must be pretty rare these days because they are few and far between and expensive. I thought a 1 lb...

    Genesis temps

I recently bought a 2002 Genesis off CL for $70. Good condition and everything seems to work fine, however I am only getting temps in the mid 300 range. Burners look to be operating correctly, outside temp is around 35 degrees. This is my second cook on it and I am really disappointed, I...

    Brisket rest

Guys Ive been using the WSM for almost 2 years now, with great success on pork products, chuck roll, and occasionally chicken. I've only tried brisket 3 times due to a couple of what I consider unsuccessful attempts. The first 2 I did were HH briskets and the were ok just a little dry. Yesterday...

    Denver area spare ribs

King Soopers has cryovac frozen spares for 99 cents a LB. Thought it might be a mis-print on thier weekly add. Went over early this morning loaded up 6 slabs, they rang up for about 25 bucks. Might have to pick up a few more this weekend. Ribs looked pretty good, for that price you can't beat...

    Deep fryer recommendations.

Any recommendations on a good deep fryer for the kitchen, something with good capacity that won't break the bank. Sometimes you just have to have home fries and or fried wings. Thanks....Chris

Hot coffee, & the smell of smoke in the air.

Hot coffee, cold Irish cream, oldies on the stereo and meat on the smoker. The smell of hickory, before sunrise, the house quiet as everyone else sleeps. A little quiet time for me after a Saturday of little league games, end of season parties, and being out in the sun all day. Guess I'll have...

    CRACKLINS?

When I was a teenager living in Dayton Ohio, I worked with a older black man named Spence. Alot of the work we did was over on the west side which was a predomently black area of town. Spence was a good man who, who attempted to teach this youg white hoodlum some life lessons. He was moderately...

    Another early morning cook.

Butts on at 4:30 am, coffee pot on at 4:45 am, now I'm trying to get motivated enough to clean the house for company at dinner tonight. Weather a little misty here this morning. Maybe I'll just go out back drink a couple of cups of joe , and enjoy the smoke for awhile. Good morning to all.

    Sunday Smoke

4 AM here in Colorado, 6 AM on the east coast. I'm sure that some of you guys over there are having your morning coffee and checking the board. Was planning on starting 2 8lb shoulders about 7 am, but as some of us "old guys" out there know getting up in the middle of the night to visit the...

    Chuck roll

All out of TX BBQ brisket rub and am doing a Chuck Roll Sunday. Was thinking about using the Southern Soccur rub. How do you think that would work or do you guys have other recommendations? I like things spicy so would I need to adjust the ingredients in that rub or will it be spicy enough?

    TALKED ME INTO IT.

Well you guys have talked me into it. 2nd brisket 1st high heater. The chimney is fired up the meat is rubbed down and in a few minutes the brisket will go on. Hope I get this right, you guys have made it sound so easy that I have to give it a try. I've allowed about 5 hours to get it done for...

High heat vs Low & slow

After blowing my 1st brisket attempt a few months back I have been reluctant to try another. As luck would have it while shopping at Sams Sunday morning a brisket lept from the meat case and landed in my shopping cart in the exact spot that was being reserved for pork butts. Anyway I was...

    Paper towel chimney starter.

Thanks guys for sharing the ideal about using oil soaked paper towels for starting the chimney. So much cleaner and no foul smell from burning news paper. Won't be going back to the old method that's for sure.
