What is everybody using to insulate thier WSM's?

I have a 22" that cooks very well as long as it doesn't get too windy. I'd like to hear some of the suggestions people on here have towards insulating their smokers. I remember seeing a very nicely made "jacket" on here quite a few years ago but I think they are no longer made. Thinking of...

    natural gas grill hose length

Does anyone know if a longer hose can be purchased or connected to a natural gas model of Weber Genesis grill? I have some patio remodeling to do and would like some extra slack in order to have some options when cooking. I'd prefer to have an additional 6-8 ft of hose if at all possible. Thanks...

WTB: Crate & Barrel Lime Green Performer

I am located in the Chicago area and on the hunt for the elusive Lime Green Performer that was sold by Crate & Barrel a few years back. If anyone is selling one or know of where one is located that is for sale and within a 200 mile radius of Chicago, please contact me. Thanks.

Weber gas grill quality at HD, Lowes, etc

Can you please share if the price that you are able to purchase this grill is a standard/sale price available at all Wal-Mart's or did you find a deal on a clearance or floor model? Thanks.

Which Automatc Temp Control should I Buy?

My ATC choice was the BBQ Guru DX2. I wanted a device that was built well, wasn't overly complicated, maintained pit temps with great accuracy and had great customer service. I chose it over the CyberQ because my cooking needs did not require the extra pit probes and I personally found all the...

    Mods for travel?

I saved the box that my WSM came in and use that when I need to move it. The pieces that Weber provided to protect it in shipping to the retailer also does a perfect job in protecting it while I move it around. I also use a 75-gallon garbage bag to cover the WSM parts within the box.

Anyone try out the iQue 120 yet? Comparison to iQue 110?

Wondered if anyone on the forum has tried or is using the newer iQue 120 model? And how it stacks up to the iQue 110? Any feedback or info would be appreciated. I'm currently in the research stage for a new ATC system and am leaning towards the DigiQ DX2 but have always liked the simplicity of...

    Digiq 2 permanent mount

I don't think that a permanent mount is the way to go, being that there may be adjustments that need to be made in regards to: location of your smoker, power cords, temp and pit probes, weather (rain), etc. However, I DO think that the right setup will definitely make things easier and once you...

    First Beef Tenderloin

Thanks. Yes, I plan on using the meat probe from my Maverick 732 on the meat and also use my trusty Thermapen for a backup reading.

    First Beef Tenderloin

Hello all, I'll be grilling a whole beef tenderloin today for the family. I've followed the videos and instructions I have seen on how to trim and prep the meat, which I did last night. My question is, I separated the "head" of the tenderloin and tied it to resemble a small roast. Can I cook...

Ribs - what am I doing wrong ?

I would suggest starting with a basket full of unlit, or banking the coals to one side of the kettle, and then adding 5-6 lit coals to it and keeping your bottom vent about halfway open and your vent on top fully open. Once you reach your targeted temperature, close your top vent halfway and...

    Whole Brisket / Packer wsm 18.5 or 22.5 ?

I agree with both of these posts. Having owned both the 18" WSM first and the 22" WSM now, the fuel consumption is not that significant between the two models. In fact I never noticed a difference anyway. A well sealed WSM will be very efficient. I use the smaller charcoal ring from the 18"...

    Need An Opinion...Kettle Bowl Damage

Great news. I called Weber Customer Service on Monday afternoon and discussed the surface marks I had on my bowl and lid. After submitting some pictures for them to review, I was told that they would ship me out a new kettle bowl, lid, and handle kit. I was completely shocked, especially...

Cleaning tips for a super stubborn kettle grill

I agree, that's what I thought as well. That's why I went with the Simple Green stuff at first since it seemed "safer" than some of the other products that seemed to have more toxic chemicals, however, I think that the "stronger" cleaners are the ones that are going to get the job done better...

    Charcoal Jump?!

I have a 22" WSM, OTG 22 1/2, and a Summit 670. I use all 3 depending on what I'm cooking and how many I am cooking for. Pick a used kettle up on CL for cheap and it will save you some money.

Cleaning tips for a super stubborn kettle grill

Picked up a 22" OTG for $5 on CL. Exterior is in pretty good shape. Interior the grates look to have been cleaned regularly but the actual kettle bowl and lid themselves are very grungy and appear to not have been cleaned for several years. I've used Grease Lightning and Simple Green BBQ...

    Choice Ribeyes Tough?!?

i hope you don't mind, but i took your picture and included it in the following pics to help in explaining the marbeling a little bit. i put the picture of your steaks first. the second picture is an old picture i had of some choice grade steaks i had purchased from my butcher. at first, i...

    Choice Ribeyes Tough?!?

i too noticed that for ribeyes, your's did not have much marbeling that was consistent throughout the meat. they also had a very, very thick pattern of fat. i believe that it is this lack of consistent marbeling that caused your steaks to turn out the way they did. i would tell your butcher...
