ISO: James River BBQ Sauce copycat recipe

Ok.. for those of you in the Boston area, you know about our roast beef sammies. Warmed thinly sliced beef piled high on a large onion roll, with some American cheese and a healthy squirt of this tangy BBQ sauce like nothing in your typical grocery store. Some research has led me to the fact...

ok.. so I think I'm going with the SS flavorizer bars and the PCI grates... I'm also thinking of giving the entire grill a good powerwash cleaning... anything I should know about before taking this on?

Was just @home depot. They had the hollow stainless steel or the porcelain coated cast iron. Same price: $65. The CI seemed better. Both seemed bettr than porcelain coated steel. Thoughts?

ok.. my 2002 Silver B needs new grates and flavorizer bars... the porcelain coated are $75 for both, while the stainless are about $150. Can anyone convince me why I should pay an extra $75 for the stainless? Thanks.

thanks guys.. never noticed the "increased capacity" section... yep.. never did anything for 85 before.. although there were like 30 kids (or so it seemed).. the 2 briskets were GONE.. not even crumbs in the pan.. got lots of compliments on it, as the wife concocted some sort of...

    maximize brisket on WSM?

ok.. had a party for 85 on Sunday... made 6 pork butts, 2 briskets, and 10lbs of wings... the briskets were a huge hit.. and they're not something I do regularly... I don't believe they were full packer briskets.. even though they were in cryo.. they were thinner, and smaller at about 8 lbs...

    Keurig Coffee Maker

Don & Dan, there are a large number of roasters making K-cups now that these are so common, from Green Mtn, to smaller names I've never heard of. Now, is it stale? I dunno, depends on how long it sits ground before it's packed in the airtight k-cups. as for the fresh ground, Keurig sells...

we've found that www.shoffee.com is the cheapest place to get the K-cups. We prefer Timothy's coffee. $10 for 24 cup boxes.

    Stuck top Vent

I have an older 18" WSM (DD) with a top vent that is very difficult to turn.. So much so that I need to use a long lever to get the torque to rotate the vent closed to "shut down" the cooker. Any ideas on how to loosen a stuck vent. Thanks. Vin

Where to buy BBQ'in wood in Massachusetts?

I got about a 16" log of apple for a buck from Big Apple Farm in Wrentham.. Check with a local fruit farm... They'll look at you like you are nuts, but tell them what it's for and they'll be helpful. You should be able to get oak anywhere that sells firewood as it's native and abundant here...
