iGrill 3 adapted to older gas Weber?

I found a 3D printed mount (would keep it external to the grill): And one example where someone cut in to their grill to accomplish: Think I may see if I can find a decent size ABS project box and make something stand-alone that I can use.

iGrill 3 adapted to older gas Weber?

Hi all, A relative had given me an iGrill 3 setup, new-in-box, because they had bought it thinking it would work for an older Genesis grill. I too have an older Genesis grill which doesn't have the mounting point for the iGrill system, but when I look at what's in the box, it doesn't seem...

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

Thanks. I priced it for quick sale - $125, which is exactly the price I paid for the new one. Broke even on the swap. I probably could have spent some time cleaning it up, but it had the rusty frame right at the bolt for the fire box which I did not want to spend the time repairing. Looking...

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

Thanks! So far, all I see is a little surface rust from where it looks like a can of cooking spray sat for a little while (rust ring). Could probably polish it off the paint - will give that a shot. I'm hoping if I keep it covered and on the deck it's on, that I will avoid a lot of rust on...

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

I will say, it was not easy. A couple of hours of hand sanding for sure.

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

I confirmed last evening that this is a 2013 model (serial number beginning with AT).

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

In this case, the underlying emblem is aluminum (2013 S330) - may be different for different grills. I am thinking of leaving it just as-is. I can always come back and sand and clear at some point in the future if the aluminum oxidizes or the inset letters start to peel.

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

@Richard in NS It was not easy, but I flat sanded all of the chrome off the face of the emblem, starting with 80, then 100. Finished with an orbital sander at 220. I had used some paint stripper before sanding which took off all of the black paint in the inset. I am not sure if I’m going to...

    Propane hose question

I'm probably overthinking this, but I need a propane hose for connecting my grill to a quick disconnect tied in to my propane tank. It needs to be 3/8" flare female on one side and 3/8" NPT male on the other. Regulator not required. I'm currently using a 5 ft hose, but it's about 1 ft too...

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

I used the high temp rust oleum in the silver or aluminum color. Don’t think it looks too bad.

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

Thinking I’m going to stick with the S330. Gave it a full cleaning, top to bottom, and amazed with how clean it actually is. Used some Soft Scrub on the stainless and it came out like new, no scratching. Repaired the igniter with some new electrical terminals. Painted the rings on the handle...

    2004 Genesis Silver C vs. 2011 Genesis S330

Hi all, Debating getting rid of one of two grills. My oldest and most used grill has been a 2004 Genesis Silver C. Side burner. Fully converted from natural gas to propane, including side burner (all original parts available). Stainless burners (have a second set in storage), stainless...

ISO: Genesis (2011) wind deflector for under control panel

Picked up a mint 2011 Genesis with sear station and side burner yesterday. The only thing wrong with it is an igniter that doesn't work; the replacement part was provided during the sale. As I broke in to it to replace the igniter, I came to realize the previous owner had already attempted to...

Franken-weber Silver C restoration in progress

This grill is a great-looking and great-working grill, but one thing I've always noticed is that the heat on the right side seems to be a bit stronger than the heat on the left. Not terribly bad like you get with those CharBroil/Charmglow units, but noticeable. Common with these grills?

Franken-weber Silver C restoration in progress

All, I've been a Weber fan for years, great to meet up with you all here. I'm in the process of cleaning up a 2005+ Silver C model. It was formerly a NG unit that my parents gave me about a year back. It's in really great shape, always covered. A little rust on the frame. I don't have NG...
