I think it depends on how deep you plan on cleaning. If your not taking the grill apart then stay away from oven cleaner, you won't get it all out. If your disassembling the grill then oven cleaner is perfectly fine. Like Jeff said just be certain to wash it off thoroughly with soap and water...

I recently picked up a rotisserie for my 3100 and have done 2 chickens. I cooked between 350 and 400. Both birds went about 1.5 hours. I did not get crispy enough skin though so next time 2 hours. Both were very juicy and tasted amazing!!!
